Why Choose Cloth Diapers? TOP

The conditions in our landfills are unfortunately not ideal, so decomposition takes much longer than that, even. After that, cut them up in small pieces and throw them in your compost and they can be helping to fertilize your garden the next year!

How many diapers do I need to get started? TOP

Below are our minimum recommendations for a newborn. Amounts needed may decrease as baby ages.

• 10 - 12 Envelope Covers (allows for 3 - 4 covers per day) if used as covers. 36 Envelope Covers if used as envelope diapers.

• 36 inserts either hemp or bamboo, depending on your preference and budget

How do I care for and clean my new cloth diapers? TOP

Once you enter the cloth diapering world, you will learn that many mom’s out there have their favorite way to wash and care for their cloth diapers. Whichever cloth diaper you choose to buy from The Green Baby Boutique, we will of course provide you with detailed care instructions. To keep it simple for now, there are a couple of things to keep in mind.

No doubt the biggest question on your mind is, “What do I do with a poopy diaper?” The answer may surprise you! First of all, for newborns, their poo is very soft and does not consist of much. Therefore, most moms just throw the dirty diaper in the pail, and wash at washing time. (Don’t worry; we carry waterproof, washable liners for your pails too!) Once your child gets older, or even if you prefer to do so from the very beginning, you can purchase a sprayer that mounts on the wall next to the toilet of your choice. Simply spray the soiled diaper off before placing in the diaper pail where it will wait to be washed with your other diapers.
Always wash your diapers using a “Free and Clear” type detergent. You only need a couple of tablespoons for a good wash.
NEVER use Fabric softener on your diapers or liner.
